Now that its winter season again, you’re itching to take out your Arctic Cat for a drive around those snowy back-roads. However, before you do so, you should probably give your snowmobile an inspection in order to determine what maintenance has to be done and what Arctic Cat snowmobile parts you need to pick up.

You can begin with an examination of the exterior of your snowmobile. First clean off the dust and grime from the vehicle with a bucket of soapy water or take it to the neighborhood car wash. The areas to focus on during your inspection are the hood, the seats, the track and rear suspension and the skis and runners. The parts that may need to be repaired or replaced include the windshield fasteners and hood latches, sliders, suspension parts, idlers, tracks, skis and runners.

Then lift the hood and examine the drive belt, the fan belt, throttle and oil cables, and exhaust springs and mounts. Change worn or damaged belts, cables and fasteners, and springs and mounts. Make sure that the levels of your brake fluid, injection oil, coolant and chaincase oil are full.

Finally, clean your carburetors. To do this you have to remove the carburetor and inspect it for residue. Soak the unit in carburetor cleaner for a few hours, then rinse it and dry thoroughly. Re-inspect to make sure it is totally clean; replace the carburetors.

After finishing all the necessary maintenance work and replacing all the damaged and missing Arctic Cat snowmobile parts, you’re finally ready to hit the trails. Enjoy!
